Does Grannycall work with any TV?
In order for Grannycall to automatically switch on the TV or switch to the correct channel, your TV must support HDMI-CEC technology. This is the case with almost all TVs that were produced since 2016. Some manufacturers have even been supporting it for a considerably longer time. If you are unsure, please contact us!
Do I need a smartphone or a tablet computer to use Grannycall?
Grannycall devices can call each other without the need for a tablet computer or a smartphone. However, the app is needed to set up the devices. As long as you know someone with a smartphone, that person can do the installation for you.
On which devices does the Grannycall app work?
The app works with Android version 6 and higher and with iOS/iPadOS version 14 and higher.
What internet connection do I need for Grannycall?
Grannycall connects to the Internet via your wireless LAN. Your internet connection should have an upstream speed of at least 2 Mbps. If it is impossible to install a fixed line with wireless LAN at the place where you want to use Grannycall, you can also use a mobile router with LTE, such as the Gigacube from Vodafone.
How much does Grannycall cost?
We offer the Grannycall device, including an HD webcam for the TV, for a one-time fee of € 349.95. The annual basic fee is € 49.99. The first basic fee is included in the purchase price!
Is Grannycall secure?
All phone calls via Grannycall are automatically end-to-end encrypted. This means that no one – not even the manufacturer – has any way of recording your conversations. Our servers are located exclusively in Germany. You can find more information here.
What data does Grannycall collect?
We attach great importance to data protection and do not store any connection data. Due to the encryption, even we ourselves do not have access to the contents of the calls made via Grannycall.
